Superbon Singha Mawynn put his challengers on notice once more when he defended the ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Championship at ONE X: Grand Finale on Saturday, 26 March, at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

A superb display against top-ranked contender Marat Grigorian highlighted why Superbon is considered one of the very best in the sport – but a new adversary lurks in wait for a chance to snatch his title.

Earlier that same evening, Chingiz “Chinga” Allazov and Sitthichai “Killer Kid” Sitsongpeenong duked it out in the ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Grand Prix Championship Final. After a dominant performance, Allazov walked away with the tournament’s coveted silver belt and the chance to take on the division champion next.

The Georgian athlete has enjoyed immense success over the last several years. He delivered a knockout punch to French kickboxer Samy Sana just 40 seconds after the opening bell of their Grand Prix quarterfinal at ONE: FIRST STRIKE. Three months later, Allazov scored another first-round KO against “Smokin’” Jo Nattawut in the semifinals of the tournament.

His latest bout against Sitthichai highlighted his explosive power and fight IQ, both of which caused problems for his Thai adversary. “Chinga” kept the pressure on and managed ringcraft for much of the fight. He landed flurries of punches and connected with kicks as he escaped his opponent’s reach. This led to a unanimous decision win over the former Lumpinee World Champion, an accolade that shouldn’t be taken lightly. But facing off against Superbon will present a whole new challenge.

When the pair meet, Allazov will face a fighter with twice his fight experience and someone who is a four-time IFMA World Champion and World Games Champion. Superbon’s latest accomplishments not only include his resounding defeat against Grigorian, but an incredible second-round knockout of Giorgio “The Doctor” Petrosyan, needless to mention a 12-fight win streak.

Fans are anxiously awaiting the announcement of the matchup between these two warriors, and they should expect it before the end of the year.

In the meantime, ONE: RELOADED takes place on 22 April at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
