Priya Sharma becomes the first Indian female athlete to compete at the Lumpinee

India’s Priya Sharma became the first-ever Indian female athlete to fight at the legendary Lumpinee Stadium last day.

Priya, who currently trains out of Fairtex Training Centre in Thailand alongside names like Stamp Fairtex, fought in the Fairtex Fight Promotion against Sondania of Thailand in a 55KG Muay-Thai contest on March 12, 2022.

The Indian produced a memorable performance that saw her go the complete distance with Sondania before suffering a decision loss. Despite the loss, Priya received praise for her performance and noted that she is eager to get back into action. She also hinted in an exclusive that she might be returning to MMA next.

Priya is one of the most experienced female fighters in the country and was part of the SFL Challengers show. She has also competed across multiple disciplines over her long combat sports journey. She had also represented India recently at the IFMA World Muay-Thai Championship.
