ONE 156: Eersel vs. Sadikovic was an evening full of explosive action, from the lead card right up to the headliners.

But one fight that went down this past Friday, 22 April, at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, still has fans talking – Liam Harrison’s one-round barnburner with Muangthai PK.Saenchai.

Prior to the bout, “Hitman” was on a four-fight winning streak, and his last performance saw him defeat Brayan Matias by decision at a Road to ONE event in his native England.

Harrison was confident that despite Muangthai's sharp elbows, the Thai athlete would be no match for the power in his fists when they went toe-to-toe.

“Hitman’s” predictions came true, but not before he was put through a couple of difficult tests by his opponent that had spectators on the edge of their seats.

Muangthai delivered a head kick that sent Harrison to the floor just under a minute into the bout, and it looked like it could’ve been an early night for the Bad Company athlete.

Harrison answered the referee’s eight-count, but immediately after the action resumed, “Elbow Zombie” came in with a flurry of punches that once again dropped the Brit for his second count.

Things didn’t look good for “Hitman,” with more than half the round left on the clock. But in a comeback for the ages, the Leeds native composed himself and delivered his own combination that sent Muangthai to the canvas.

Harrison then dropped the Lumpinee World Champion twice more, earning him a TKO victory at 2:19 of the first round. The win now puts "Hitman" on a long-awaited collision course with ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Champion Nong-O Gaiyanghadao.

On top of the victory and World Title shot, Harrison also earned a jaw-dropping US$100,000 performance bonus from ONE Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong – double what is usually awarded.

Stay tuned for ONE’s next event, ONE 157: Petchmorakot vs. Vienot, which goes down on 20 May at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
