Leverage Fight Night IX is just around the corner and the Leverage Fight Night team continued their ‘Athlete in Focus’ series and talked to Prashanth Kota recently.

Prashanth, who is the head coach at Four Pillar in Chennai, will be locking horns with Aman Gusain of Warrior’s COVE Mixed Martial Arts in the opening bracket with the winner of the showdown going on to face the winner of Tarun Yadav vs. Debojit Dasgupta.

Talking about the tournament, Prashanth noted that his biggest advantage would be the experience that he brings to the table and the support system that he has back at home. He also noted that he is excited to compete against people that he is yet to train with and further stated that Leverage Fight Night is a great platform for the grapplers.

“If I win the prize money, I hope to fund the internship program that we had started. The idea behind it was to help people who are enthusiastic about training but don’t really have the means to do it. Just use that money to help grow the sport in the city,” Prashanth said.

Leverage Fight Night IX happens on December 18, 2020, and will feature 16 grapplers from across the nation with prize money of Rs. 1 lakh up for grabs in the single-elimination submission-only tournament. The event will be streamed on the Facebook page of Leverage Fight Night.
