Leverage Fight Night IX is all set to happen on December 18. The event, which will feature 16 grapplers from across the nation, will have prize money of Rs. 1 Lakh up for grabs.
One of the grapplers competing for the prize is Peeyush Pandey. Currently training out of Warrior’s Cove MMA, Peeyush was a mainstay at the Institute of Jiu-Jitsu in Bangalore prior to the pandemic and will be locking horns with Indian MMA veteran Seth Rosario in the opening bracket.
Apart from Seth, Peeyush notes that he is looking forward to competing against Rachit Tyagi of Crosstrain Fight Club while also having his eyes on his fellow teammate Aman Gusain.
“I’m looking forward to competing against Rachit and Aman from my own team because he beat me at the last ADCC tournament and he always rubs that in my face,” he said.
Peeyush also spoke highly about the tournament.
“Leverage Fight Night is going to be an epic tournament in the Indian Jiu-Jitsu because it is offering a grand prize money of Rs. 1 Lakh so that is like life-changing money for a grappler and if you want to compete overseas, this is like really important money which people generally don’t have in a small sport like Jiu-Jitsu in India,” he said.
He concluded by saying that he is looking forward to seeing all the exciting grapplers competing at the tournament.
