I am going to handle the funeral of Nate Diaz, says Khamzat Chimaev

Khamzat Chimaev is fired up for his fight against Nate Diaz. Khamzat and Diaz are expected to lock horns in the main event of UFC 279 in Las Vegas as the fighters have verbally agreed to the fight.

Though the paperwork is still pending, the fight is expected to go through and Khamzat has opened as a heavy favourite for the fight at UFC 279.

The undefeated MMA prospect is looking confident ahead of the fight and noted in a statement to ESPN that he will handle the funeral of Nate Diaz when they fight.

“I am going to handle Nate Diaz’s funeral,” Khamzat told ESPN via his representative.

Khamzat comes into the fight with an undefeated professional MMA record to his name. He has been unstoppable in the UFC as well having secured wins at Welterweight and Middleweight. A former BRAVE CF stand-out, Khamzat last fought Gilbert Burns and secured a unanimous decision win in the fight.

As for Nate Diaz, he is coming off his loss against Leon Edwards. Diaz has not fought for more than a year and has been vocal about the UFC not giving him fights. Interestingly, this will be the last fight on his UFC contract.

The internet is having mixed reactions about the fight announcement as many feel that Khamzat is indeed a heavy favourite. YouTube Sensation Jake Paul also had his take on the fight and noted that he will be putting his money on Nate Diaz against ‘fake Khabib’ Khamzat Chimaev.

At the same time, Jake had expressed his interest in a boxing showdown with Nate Diaz sometime back.
