Colby Covington is all set to have a huge fight this weekend at UFC 272 when he fights Jorge Masvidal in the main event.

Ahead of his showdown at the pay-per-view, Colby seems to have drawn battle lines with former UFC champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk. In her recent interview, Joanna had criticized Colby and this has not sat well with Colby.

Speaking to ESPN’s Brett Okamoto, Colby said that Joanna and Dustin Poirier are jealous of him.

“No journalist out there can go look at the timeline of events of who started running their mouth first. I never said anything to Joanna. I never said nothing to Dustin (Poirier). They started getting jealous of my success and that I was rising up,” he said (h/t MMA News).

He further went on to add that Joanna used to be in his DMs and his rejection of her is what caused her to go off on him.

“So of course, I’m gonna come back at “The Boobie Woman” Joanna. You’re talking (BLEEP) about me before I’m getting ready for a title fight. I’ve never said one thing about you. I don’t care about you. You used to send me DMs after training, wanting to flirt with me and go out on dates. Just because I didn’t give you attention, Joanna, don’t get mad at me and talk (BLEEP),” he added.

Colby heads into the fight with Masvidal on the back of his decision loss against Kamaru Usman. However, Colby has only lost to Usman since 2016 and has wins over names like Rafael Dos Anjos, Demian Maia, Robbie Lawler, and Tyron Woodley over his last ten fights.
