Jake Paul once again made headlines this past weekend when he knocked out former UFC Welterweight champion Tyron Woodley. With the win, The YouTube star went to 5-0 in his professional boxing career and has expressed his interest in switching to MMA.
During one of his interviews, Jake Paul revealed that he is planning to train with the American Kickboxing Academy team led by coach Javier Mendez and former UFC Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.

"People seem to forget that I was a state wrestler, Division 1 in Ohio, one of the hardest wrestling states. I don’t see why if I can do boxing at this high of a level that I couldn’t do MMA at this high of a level. I’m gonna go get coached up by Jav Mendez, Team Khabib, and that’s that. They’re down, 100 percent,” Jake Paul had noted.
Reacting to the quote from Jake Paul, former UFC fighter Josh Thompson warned Paul about taking his YouTube antics to Khabib Nurmagomedov.
"You bring that type of YouTube nonsense, bulls*** talk around Khabib and the Russians... Son, it's not going to be what you think it is. That's the biggest thing. Look, do I think they could help him become an MMA guy? Yes. Let me ask you this, though, where is he going to fight?" Thompson said during the Weighing In Podcast (h/t Sportskeeda).

John McCarthy also pitched in his take on the situation and noted that Jake Paul joining AKA could cause problems in the relationship between Khabib and Javier Mendez.

Why can’t he train with them? His professional career as a YouTuber pisses a lot of people off because he has made a fortune as well as a Disney kid actor I see nothing wrong is he wanting to change his profession but knocking people out and do an MMA training with the best team in the country stop hating on him.
