Islam Makhachev goes in as a betting favorite against Charles Oliveira

Islam Makhachev will be heading into the fight against Charles Oliveira at UFC 280 as a betting favourite. This is as per BetOnline which has Makhchev as the -255 (20/51) favourite against Oliveira.

As for Oliveira, he is an underdog heading into the fight at +215 (43/20) on the betting lines.

The fight was confirmed by the UFC last day following weeks of back and forth. Oliveira will be looking to claim back the UFC Lightweight title which was stripped off him for missing weight ahead of the fight against Justin Gaethje.

Oliveira finished Gaethje in the first round of their fight back in May and is currently on an 11-fight winning streak in the UFC at the moment. In this run, Oliveira has beaten names like Michael Chandler and Dustin Poirier as well.

Makhachev, on the other hand, will be looking to take back the title to Dagestan. He is on an impressive winning streak himself having won 10 of his last fights. His last outing came in February at UFC Vegas 49 where he finished Bobby Green in the first round.

The event is set to happen at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi on October 22 and is expected to feature some exciting fights including the Road to UFC Semi-Finals.
