The Brazilian had earlier expressed his interest in fighting former two-division champion Conor McGregor and claimed that Makhachev was a backup plan. However, in the latest video, Oliveira has opened up to the possibility of fighting the Russian fighter.
Oliveira and Makhachev seem to be on a collision course at the moment with the UFC Lightweight title being vacant at the moment. Both the fighters are on impressive winning streaks at the moment and a major portion of the fans have also been calling for this fight to happen.
Additionally, Oliveira’s coach Diego Lima had called out Khabib for being hypocritical as the Russian noted that Makhachev can beat Oliveira. Lima accused Khabib of being just like Conor McGregor which did not sit well with the Russian's fans.
