Invicta FC hosted a historic event last day in Kansas City as the promotion rolled out Phoenix Series 3. It was the first event in Modern MMA history to have an open scoring system which meant that the scores after each round would be visible to the fans and available to the fighter’s corner.
The fight night saw the support of many combat sports athletes including former UFC champion Max Holloway who lauded the initiative of the open scoring system.
The major attraction of the event was the Bantamweight Single-Elimination Tournament while the main event between Julija Stoliarenko and Lisa Verzosa is what stole the show. The fight which went the complete distance proved to be a bloody affair with Lisa suffering a nasty cut on her face.
The judges scored in favour of Julija after the three-rounds but both the women attracted praise from the combat sports community for the excellent fight that they showcased.
Below are the complete results from the event courtesy of MMA Fighting.
