Former UFC star Cain Velasquez was denied bail once again and will remain in jail.
According to court documents obtained by MMA media outlet MMA Junkie, Velasquez appeared in the Santa Clara County Hall of Justice in San Jose, Calif., on Monday for a hearing during which Judge Shelyna Brown denied a motion for bail once more.
The defence needed to provide Judge Brown with a change of circumstance in order to challenge the court's ruling and potentially overturn the previous bail denials.
Geragos argued that the intent of Harry Goularte, Patricia Goularte, and Paul Bender not to testify in a civil lawsuit should be interpreted as a change in circumstances in the criminal case against Velasquez, who is facing a 20-year-to-life prison sentence for attempted murder.
Geragos added that Velasquez, who has been detained since February 28, was willing to post a $1 million bond and accept all court requirements in order to be reunited with his family.

The Santa Clara County District Attorney Office's Aaron French argued that no decision on testimony status for the Goulartes or Bender had been made.
Judge Brown ultimately decided not to overturn her previous decisions. Brown stated that Velasquez's testimony status is unimportant to the risk factor she believes he poses.
