I will die: BTS member Jungkook responds to callout from Yoshihiro Akiyama

BTS member Jungkook has apparently responded to the callout from ONE Championship star Yoshihiro Akiyama. The news was revealed by Akiyama last day and he noted that Jungkook saw the article about the call out and responded.

“When BTS Jungkook saw the article, he smiled and replied to me, ‘But I will die~’ I’m still waiting for the day when I can meet you,” Akiyama wrote 8(h/t Sportskeeda)

Akiyama had earlier called out the K-Pop icon recently for a sparring session after seeing the video that Jungkook posted on Instagram.

“Please tell him for me that we should have a sparring session next time. ^__^” Akiyama had noted.

Akiyama is also well-known in Korea, where he is known as Choo Sung Hoon. He is of Korean descent and is a fourth-generation Japanese. He has even represented Korea at the Asian Games in Judo, winning a gold medal for the country in 2001. Next that, Akiyama represented Japan in the following year and won another Gold medal, this time defeating South Korean Ahn Dong-Jin in the finals.

Meanwhile, according to Google's mid-year ranking, Jungkook, BTS's youngest member and vocalist, was the most-searched male K-Pop Idol in 2019. In 2019 and 2020, he was also the most popular K-Pop Idol on YouTube. He is said to have a net worth of more than $20 million, and his popularity is evidenced by the fact that he had the most retweeted tweet on Twitter in 2019 and the second most retweeted message in 2020.
