Indian MMA fighter Akshata Khadtare secured three medals including a gold medal at the 5th Asian Ju-Jitsu Championship which was held in Abu Dhabi. Akshata, who trains out of Team Relentless in Mumbai, started off her campaign with a Silver Medal in the Adults Ju-Jitsu category in the -52.2 KG weight.
She then followed it up with a Bronze medal on the second day of the championship in the Fighting Ju-Jitsu Category in the same weight. However, the cherry on the top came on the third day of competition when Akshata took home the Gold Medal in the -52.2 KG contact Ju-Jitsu Category. Aigerim Torekhanova of Kazakhstan picked up the silver in the category.
Interestingly, this is the fifth international medal for Akshata in the gap of one month as she had won two medals at the GAMMA Asian MMA Championship as well. At the event held in Kyrgyzstan, Akshata won Gold in the -47.6 KG MMA Category and Silver in the -52.2 KG Striking MMA Category.
Hailing from Maharashtra, Akshata has been a force to reckon with in the MMA circuit. She has plenty of experience to showcase on her resume including multiple international wins. Along with competing in IMMAF World Championship, GAMMA World Championship, and GAMMA Asian Championship, Akshata also headlined both the Women’s Only Fight Night Events that were hosted by X1 International and picked up wins in both the main events.
