Former Combat Sambo World Champion Velimurad Alkhasov is gearing up for an ambitious 2024, with his sights firmly set on capturing the BRAVE CF Bantamweight Title.
The Russian fighter, boasting an impressive professional MMA record of 9-1, made a strategic move to the Bantamweight division at BRAVE CF 71. In his divisional debut, Alkhasov made an emphatic statement by clinching a decision victory against esteemed competitor Nicholas Hwende, cementing his presence in the 135-pound weight class.
Prior to this transition, Alkhasov had been a dominant force in the BRAVE CF Flyweight division since his promotional debut in 2018. Accumulating four victories in the Flyweight ranks, Alkhasov opted to shift his focus to the Bantamweight division, seeking new challenges and opportunities for success.
With a notable win over a top-ranked Bantamweight contender under his belt, Alkhasov exudes confidence and is eager to test his mettle against reigning Bantamweight World Champion Nkosi Ndebele.
"I've defeated every Flyweight in BRAVE CF, and I believe I'll replicate that success in the Bantamweight division. I'm accustomed to facing the best from the outset of my career. The Bantamweights of BRAVE CF have yet to encounter someone like me. I'm ready to face Nkosi Ndebele, wherever he may be. I aim to be the alternate for the title fight, and I'll be fully prepared," Alkhasov affirmed.

The Bantamweight landscape is currently dominated by Nkosi, who clinched the World Title by triumphing over his rival and Alkhasov's KHK MMA Teammate, Jose 'Shorty' Torres, at BRAVE CF 80.
In a surprising turn of events, Nkosi has expressed his interest in defending his title against Alkhasov following the Russian's announcement of his permanent move to the Bantamweight division. However, amidst the anticipation for this potential showdown, a trilogy fight with Jose Torres looms, adding an extra layer of intrigue to the BRAVE CF Bantamweight Division.
