UFC Vegas 76 Results: Sean Strickland stops Abus Magomedov in second round

UFC Vegas 76 unfolded live from the UFC APEX in Las Vegas. The middleweight clash between Abus Magomedov and #7-ranked Sean Strickland took center stage, showcasing fierce competition. Magomedov displayed his dangerous striking in a relentless first round, but Strickland's experience and fight IQ ultimately gave him the upper hand.

With an impressive display of striking in the second round, Strickland secured a sensational TKO victory over Magomedov.

In his post-fight interview, Strickland expressed his unwavering determination, stating that he is unstoppable and hungry for more challenges. He called out for a title shot or a matchup against Israel Adesanya.

"I ain't slowing down, I ain't stopping. If you want to go down and wrestle or have some Peter Pan kicks, bring it. The UFC is the one who pays me, but without you guys, I wouldn't get a check, and they paid me really good for this fight. I want the title. If you don't want to give me the title, then give me (Israel Adesanya). I want the first and only Chinese champion (Adesanya was a champion in China's Glory of Heroes kickboxing promotion). Let's do this,” Strickland noted.

Grant Dawson gets the win in the co-main event

In the co-main event, #15-ranked Grant Dawson against #12-ranked Damir Ismagulov. Dawson showcased his grappling prowess by expertly taking Ismagulov down and relentlessly hunting for submissions while maintaining back control throughout most of the three rounds.

Ismagulov displayed remarkable defensive skills but couldn't escape Dawson's relentless attacks. In the end, Dawson secured a unanimous decision victory and expressed his gratitude to his coaching team at American Top Team.

"This performance was 10% me. Those guys standing behind you, it was 90% them - the coaches I have at American Top Team are second to none. Next, I want a big name or a big rank. If that's, Tony Ferguson, that's a go because it's a big name. If it's Beneil Dariush, that's a go because it's a big rank. Whoever it is, I'm here to tell the world I'm one of the best!"he said after the win.
