When #7 Sean Strickland stepped in against #12 Nassourdine Imavov on short notice, welterweight rankers entered the light heavyweight division. Strickland, who is renowned for his outstanding defence, veered off course, and an entertaining striker's duel occurred.

Additionally, Imavov was able to adjust to Strickland's clinch game and outlasted him over the course of all five rounds. According to the judge's scorecards, Strickland was declared the winner.

"It was a close fight, but I won. I beat the second and third-ranked guys. I'm only here (this rank) because of bad judging. The only reason he could hit me is because I wanted to finish him. I didn't finish him, so I'm sorry you guys,” Strickland noted after the win.

Fan favourite #13 Dan Ige had the advantage over Damon Jackson in a matchup between two featherweights, and the fan favourite eventually got back on the winning track with a stunning second round knockout. Ige had the ideal strategy for dealing with Jackson's rangy approach, and he stuck to it until he hit the ideal short hook that signalled the end of the game.

"It feels really good. It's been almost two years without a win. I give my whole life to this sport, and my identity lies in winning. Without winning, I went through depression and anxiety to do anything to get a win for my family, for my son. I just want to be a good role model. You've just got to keep getting up over and over again."

Roman Kopylov emerged victorious in a crucial fight between two promising middleweight prospects by knocking out Punahele Soriano in the second round with a series of strong body kicks.

Umar Nurmagomedov, a rising star in the UFC, defeated veteran Raoni Barcelos by knockout near the conclusion of the first round to improve to 4-0.
