UFC is set to return with UFC 282 this weekend. In a fight for the vacant UFC light heavyweight championship, former champion and No. 3 challenger Jan Blachowicz will try to slow down No. 4 Magomed Ankalaev's momentum on the final UFC Pay-Per-View of 2022.
The fight materialized after Jiri Prochazka, the UFC light heavyweight champion, suffered a shoulder injury that will require extensive recovery time. Prochazka made the decision to relinquish his championship out of respect for the competitors and the division, and he will challenge for the crown as soon as he receives the all-clear.
Blachowicz comes into the fight with a record of 29-9 to his name and will be looking to capture the title back. He holds nine wins via KO on his resume and is ranked third in the division at the moment. Ankalaev, on the other hand, is 18-1 in his professional MMA career and is on a nine-fight winning streak right now. He has 10 wins via KO on his resume and six first-round finishes as well.
In the co-main event, Paddy Pimblett will lock horns with Jared Gordon. Highly touted Raul Rosas Jr will be making his UFC debut against Jay Perrin in the Undercard. You can see the complete fight card for the event below.
