One of the most decorated strikers in martial arts history is back. ONE Championship has announced that reigning ONE Strawweight Muay Thai World Champion Prajanchai Pongsuphan PK will return to kickboxing competition against Wang Junguang at The Inner Circle 35 on Friday, October 16, streaming exclusively on live.onefc.com from Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
The comeback carries serious stakes. Prajanchai, 31, underwent surgery earlier this year and has been working his way back to full fitness ever since. The return to kickboxing is not simply about getting back into competition.
It is the first step in a mission to reclaim the two-sport status he once held as both the ONE Strawweight Muay Thai and Kickboxing World Champion, a distinction only a handful of fighters in ONE Championship history have achieved.
The Thai legend's 7-2 ONE record and breathtaking 344-53 career striking record tell only part of his story. Since joining ONE Championship in 2021, Prajanchai has claimed titles, lost them, and reclaimed them in spectacular fashion on multiple occasions.
He became the undisputed ONE Strawweight Muay Thai World Champion by avenging his loss to Joseph Lasiri in under 90 seconds, added kickboxing gold by defeating Jonathan Di Bella for the vacant ONE Strawweight Kickboxing World Title in 2024, and defended his Muay Thai crown with a dominant TKO over Ellis Badr Barboza in 2025.
When Di Bella claimed the kickboxing unification bout via unanimous decision later that year, it only added fuel to the fire that is now driving Prajanchai's return.
Wang, 31, provides a fascinating opponent for the Thai star's kickboxing comeback. The Chinese fighter’s ONE journey began with a first-round TKO of Federico Roma in 2019, impressive enough to earn him a shot at the inaugural ONE Strawweight Kickboxing World Championship against Sam-A Gaiyanghadao.
He pushed the legendary Thai for five rounds before falling short, and a narrow split-decision loss to Aslanbek Zikreev in 2020 left him with unresolved ambitions on the global stage. Now, the Zhoukou native returns to make his presence felt once more.
