Team India ends IMMAF Asian Championships in Pakistan with three bronze medals
31 Aug 2024 Team India concluded their participation in the IMMAF Asian MMA Championships in Lahore, Pakistan securing three bronze medals. The team finished 8th overall in the tournament behind the likes of Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Bahrain, Pakistan, Kyrgyzstan, Iran, and Lebanon.
Medal Winners
Indian fighters Mohd Dawood Khan, Khushboo Nishad, and Meena Bijili Vadlamani each earned bronze medals for the semi-final fights in their respective categories. All three faced tough competition and were defeated in their semi-final bouts.
- Mohd Dawood Khan faced a challenging opponent in Bahrain’s Sultan Gapizov and was defeated by first-round knockout in the Heavyweight category.
- Meena Bijili Vadlamani encountered Adel Makhametova from Kazakhstan in the Bantamweight semi-finals. Makhametova secured a victory via a first-round armbar submission.
- Khushboo Nishad was edged out by Bano Butt in the Atomweight semi-finals, losing by split decision.

- Belbin Samraj lost to Nurlan Tleumbetov of Kazakhstan by decision.
- Sridhar GR was defeated by Kuandyk Kudasbay of Kazakhstan via decision.
- Bhushan Chaple suffered a TKO loss to Jovidon Mahmudov from Tajikistan.
- Dheeran Vinayak was knocked out by Alikhan Safarov of Kazakhstan.
Kazakhstan topped the medal standings with 26 total medals and Tajikistan came in second with 14 total medals. Hosts Pakistan won 2 gold medals, 4 silver medals and 5 bronze medals to finish fourth and a total tally of 12 medals.
