Japanese kickboxing superstar Takeru Segawa is ready for the toughest test of his career as he faces Rodtang Jitmuangnon in a five-round flyweight kickboxing bout at ONE 172: Takeru vs. Rodtang on March 23. The former three-division K-1 champion has dominated the Japanese kickboxing scene, but now, he wants to establish himself as the best in the world under the ONE Championship banner.

Speaking at the pre-event press conference, Takeru revealed his motivation for taking this fight.

"I fought in K-1 and won three divisional championships, and for the last challenge of my career, I chose ONE Championship," Takeru stated. "And the reason is Rodtang. He's number one. He's been a champion for a long time, and if I beat Rodtang, I'll be number one in the world."

This fight is one of the most anticipated bouts in kickboxing history, with fans eager to see how Takeru’s aggressive and technical style matches up against the relentless pressure of Rodtang. With both fighters known for their speed, precision, and knockout power, this battle at the Saitama Super Arena in Japan promises to be a spectacle.

The fight is part of a stacked card featuring five World Title fights, including Tawanchai PK Saenchai vs. Masaaki Noiri for the ONE Interim Featherweight Kickboxing World Title and Superlek Kiatmoo9 vs. Nabil Anane for the ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Title.

Takeru’s journey has already cemented his place as one of the greatest kickboxers of all time, but with this fight, he has the opportunity to claim the ultimate title: the best flyweight striker in the world.
