Ronda Rousey does not need any introductions. The former UFC champion is one of the pioneers when it comes to MMA and now, she is enjoying quite a lot of success in the professional wrestling circuit as well.

Having won bronze in judo at the 2008 Summer Olympics, Rousey became the first American woman to accomplish so.

In 2011, she started her mixed martial arts (MMA) career with King of the Cage. As soon as Strikeforce was acquired by UFC, she entered and quickly rose to the position of last women's bantamweight champion there.

Rousey participated in the UFC's first-ever female fight at event UFC 157, won the division's first Women's Bantamweight Championship, and held the record for the most female fighters to successfully defend their titles, with six, until Valentina Shevchenko did so in 2022.

Rousey left mixed martial arts in 2016, and in 2001 she became the first female fighter to be inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame.

Rousey began her professional wrestling career in 2018 after joining WWE[21] and made her debut at WrestleMania 34.

Only Rousey has headlined a pay-per-view event for both the UFC and WWE, and she is the only female champion in both organisations. In a 2015 ESPN fan survey, she was chosen as the greatest female athlete of all time, and Fox Sports called her "one of the defining athletes of the 21st century."

In addition, Rousey has made appearances in the movies The Expendables 3 (2014), Furious 7 (2015), Mile 22 (2018), and My Fight/Your Fight (2015).

While the career of Rousey is something worth celebrating, there was an instance where the former UFC champion was almost put to sleep by a Australian reporter.
