Indian MMA star Puja Tomar has issued a determined message following her loss to China's Shi Ming in the special UFC strawweight main event at Road to UFC 5 Opening Round Day 2 in Macau.
Tomar suffered a first-round submission defeat after Shi secured an arm-triangle choke at the 3:12 mark of the opening round at Galaxy Arena on May 29.
Despite the setback, the Indian fighter remained positive about her future in the sport, sharing a message with fans on social media days after the contest.
"Lost the fight but my dream is still alive, my hunger is still alive. I will come back stronger very soon," Tomar wrote.
The statement drew support from fans and fellow athletes, many praising her resilience and commitment to returning to competition.
Tomar, who became the first Indian woman to compete in the UFC, entered the bout looking to build momentum on the international stage. While the result did not go her way, she made it clear that the defeat has not changed her long-term goals.
The special UFC strawweight contest headlined the second day of Road to UFC 5 opening-round action, which also featured tournament bouts across the flyweight and strawweight divisions.
