India’s first female UFC fighter Puja Tomar is officially set for her special main event clash against China’s Shi Ming after both fighters successfully made weight for Road To UFC Season 5 Day 2.
Puja Tomar weighed in at 115.5 pounds, while Shi Ming came in at 115 pounds ahead of their highly anticipated women’s strawweight bout on May 29. The matchup will headline the second night of the Road To UFC opening rounds and marks another major moment for Indian MMA on the international stage.
Shi Ming enters the contest as the winner of the Road To UFC Season 3 women’s strawweight tournament and has gained global attention for her exciting performances inside the cage. Meanwhile, Tomar will look to continue making history as India’s first and only female UFC representative.
The co-main event will feature the Road To UFC Season 4 flyweight final between Mongolia’s Namsrai Batbayar and China’s Yin Shuai, with a UFC contract on the line.
