ONE SAMURAI 4: Grigorian, Noiri, Luo Chao And Siasarani Set For Tournament

ONE Championship has revealed the semifinal lineup for the ONE SAMURAI Featherweight Kickboxing Tournament.

Kickboxing veteran Marat Grigorian faces China’s Luo Chao, and former ONE Interim Featherweight Kickboxing World Champion Masaaki Noiri collides with Iran's Mohammad Siasarani at ONE SAMURAI 4 on Saturday, October 17, from Tokyo, Japan. The winner of this prestigious tournament earns a title shot against reigning ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Champion Superbon.

All four fighters earned their semifinal spots through quarterfinal victories earlier this month in a series of bouts that produced some memorable moments.

Grigorian advanced via unanimous decision over Russia's Mamuka Usubyan, while Luo defeated Kosuke Takagi by the same margin to set up their semifinal collision. In the other half of the bracket, Noiri delivered one of the most emphatic performances of the quarterfinals, avenging his previous loss to Liu Mengyang with a stunning knockout in less than three minutes. Siasarani was equally ruthless, stopping Kaito in under two minutes to claim his second victory over the Japanese fighter.

Grigorian, 35, is the elder statesman of the semifinal field and one of the most decorated names in kickboxing history. The Armenian carries a 71-14 career striking record with 41 finishes and an 8-3 ONE record into the semifinal.

Standing in his way is Luo Chao, 25, a Chinese finisher who has been on a remarkable tear since joining ONE Championship. The 44-11 pro record with 18 knockouts and six consecutive ONE victories.

The second semifinal pits Noiri's championship pedigree against Siasarani's relentless winning streak. Noiri, 33, is a former ONE Interim Featherweight Kickboxing World Champion whose resume includes a knockout of Tawanchai PK Saenchai to claim that interim belt.

Siasarani, 24, is the youngest and perhaps the most in-form fighter in the field. The Iranian carries a 29-13 striking record with 12 finishes and a 10-2 ONE record into the contest, riding a six-fight win streak that has bulldozed through the featherweight division with relentless efficiency.
