ONE Championship Rankings Update Following ONE Fight Night 3: Lineker Vs. Andrade

ONE Championship had an eventful October, which resulted in a shift in the organization’s top-five rankings.

After ONE Fight Night 3: Lineker vs. Andrade on the 22nd, some stars catapulted their way up their respective divisions and others fell in the opposite direction.

Here’s where ONE’s top-five rankings stand a result.

ONE Bantamweight MMA Rankings Update

The bantamweight division saw a shift after ONE Fight Night 3 when former ONE World Champion John Lineker and top-ranked contender Fabricio Andrade went to battle inside the Circle.

However, in a bout that was at first living up to its billing, an anticlimactic and incidental shot to Lineker’s groin suddenly ended the fight, rendering the bout a no contest. This only further disappointed Lineker, as he was also stripped of his belt for not making weight prior to the fight.

Before the bout came to an end, though, Andrade did more damage and looked like he was on his way to winning the bout. With that in mind, the powers that be overseeing ONE’s rankings determined it was enough to grant Andrade the #1 position in the bantamweight division, while Linker slid from World Champ to #2.

#2: John Lineker (-2)

ONE Featherweight MMA Rankings Update

In featherweight mixed martial arts, Russian prodigy Shamil Gasanov made his long-awaited promotional debut at ONE Fight Night 3 and quickly shot into the top-five rankings.

Gasanov battled Kim Jae Woong in his first outing – a tough assignment for any fighter. However, Gasanov dispatched Kim in little over two minutes of the first round, putting “The Cobra” in prime position at #5.

ONE Featherweight Kickboxing Rankings Update

The featherweight kickboxing fold also saw a shuffle in the top-five rankings in the fallout from ONE Fight Night 3, as Thai legend Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong battled highly touted Dutch-Moroccan striker Mohammed Boutasaa.

Sitthichai weathered the early storm from Boutasaa, who vowed to take the fight to the Thai veteran. Experience eventually overcame the barraging Boutasaa, though, as Sitthichai received the nod from all three judges.

Sitthichai’s turnaround saw him move to #3 in the rankings, and he now has a fourth showdown with ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Champion Superbon Singha Mawynn in his crosshairs.

#2: Marat Grigorian
