ONE Fight Night 6: Superbon vs. Allazov at the Impact Arena served as the opening event for the 2023 season of ONE Championship (ONE). Three World Title fights were on the card, but the main event was a matchup among the best pound-for-pound strikers for the ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Title.
The World Champions received the renowned ONE World Title belt from ONE Championship, which presented it in collaboration with the top premium lifestyle and luxury performance brand TUMI.
Chingiz Allazov wins the World Title
Chingiz Allazov, the #1-ranked contender and ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Grand Prix Champion, stunned the world in the main event by knocking out Superbon Singha Mawynn to win the title.
Superbon was pushed back by Allazov in the opening round with quick and potent combinations as the Thai superstar searched for opportunities. Superbon threw strikes, but "Chinga" had a response for each one. The Azerbaijani-Belarusian sniper improved his performance in the second round behind even more thunderous boxing after outperforming the defending monarch in the first.
In the middle of the second stanza, Allazov delivered a devastating right hand that brought Superbon down for the count. He then delivered a second right hand, which once more knocked his opponent to the ground. The situation was swiftly resolved by a final right hand, which also removed Superbon from his senses and installed "Chinga" as the divisional ruler.
Superlek wins the title
Superlek Kiatmoo9 of Thailand engaged in combat with Daniel Puertas of Spain in the co-main event, winning the fight and the vacant ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Title. Superlek picked his locations as Puertas started the fight with aggression. In the third round, "The Kicking Machine" quickened the pace and began punching Puertas against the Circle Wall. Superlek had a yellow card in the fifth round for overly clinching, but he finished the fight strongly to win the unanimous decision and the golden belt.
Mikey Musumeci defends his title
The ONE Flyweight Submission Grappling World Championship was retained by Italian-American BJJ sensation Mikey Musumeci in the other co-main event as he outclassed top Mongolian sambo expert Gantumur Bayanduuren. Early in the match, "Darth Rigatoni" grabbed Bayanduuren in a leg lock, and he remained there for almost the entire time. The Mongolian showed extraordinary tenacity by refusing to submit, and Musumeci applied consistent pressure to the knee and ankle joints. In the end, the defending monarch won a lopsided unanimous decision victory and kept on the ruling.
Aung La, Rodtang and Stamp Fairtex secure wins
Aung La N Sang, a former two-division ONE World Champion, enthralled the audience by stunning the powerful Brazilian veteran Gilberto Galvao. "The Burmese Python" successfully defended against and countered an early attack from his adversary. "Giba" was damaged by a few quick elbows in the clinch, and Aung La N Sang followed him to the ground with a lot of ground-and-pound. The 37-year-old got the TKO victory after landing a barrage of powerful right punches.
China's Jiduo Yibu was defeated by local hero and ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon in a nearly faultless kickboxing display. From the beginning, "The Iron Man" was strong and aggressive, drawing Jiduo into the conflict. He knocked down the Chinese striker in the opening round, but he was able to recover. The Thai firecracker continued to up the ante until the final buzzer, winning by unanimous decision and establishing his case for a future opportunity at the ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Title.
In a strawweight kickboxing match against adolescent idol Anna "Supergirl" Jaroonsak, former ONE Atomweight Kickboxing and Muay Thai World Champion Stamp Fairtex accepted a significant challenge. Both ladies had good, clean shots throughout the entire contest, which was tight. From the first bell, "Supergirl" applied pressure to Stamp by taking use of her bulk. The Fairtex fighter delivered her greatest performance in the final round, hammering "Supergirl" with a barrage of punches. In the end, the judges awarded Stamp a split decision victory in the fight.
