ONE Fight Night 1: Nong-O And Liam Harrison Gear Up For An Intense Battle

ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Champion Nong-O Gaiyanghadao admits that British striker Liam “Hitman” Harrison is on a roll. However, the titleholder warned his challenger not to get too confident.

The two devastating hitters will battle for the said ONE world title in the co-main event of ONE Fight Night 1: Moraes vs. Johnson II on 27 August at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Nong-O does respect Harrison and everything he has accomplished in the sport. However, the division’s king said:

“Don’t mistake my kindness for weakness. Once the cage is locked, there is no escape. I’m coming for blood.”

The ONE World Champion has firmly cemented his spot on the throne by winning all of his eight fights in The Home of Martial Arts. Six of those contests were for his current world title, including his last defense against Felipe Lobo at ONE X in March.

But Harrison is a formidable challenger, as shown in his latest win against Muangthai PK.Saenchai, wherein he scored a first-round knockout after being knocked down twice himself. “Hitman” isn’t scared of the champion.

He told Nong-O on an Instagram post:

“That makes 2 of us…BRING IT.”

Though they will be foes soon, Nong-O appreciates Harrison’s game. 

“It might seem ridiculous to say that my favorite Muay Thai fighter and kickboxer is Liam Harrison, my next challenger. I’ve been following him for quite a long time. I love his style. His fights are always exciting and fun to watch,” the ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai king said.

That said, Nong-O believes that their battle won’t last five rounds. The same goes for Harrison, who is confident he can defeat the longtime king.

“If anyone could knock him out, it’s me. Nobody he has fought punches as I do. If I land clean on anyone in 4-ounce gloves, they will go,” Harrison said.

Aside from the Nong-O vs. Harrison battle, the main event of ONE Fight Night 1 will feature the rematch between ONE Flyweight World Champion Adriano Moraes and mixed martial arts legend Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson.
