ONE 163 will feature two World Championship bouts on Saturday, 19 November, at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
In the main event, ONE Bantamweight Kickboxing World Champion Hiroki Akimoto defends his strap against #3-ranked contender Petchtanong Petchfergus.
Akimoto comes into the main event on a five-fight winning streak. Since moving to bantamweight, the Japanese star has made impressive work of his opposition en route to the title.
The new champion is set to attempt to make a more impactful showing this time around, though, when he looks to cement himself in his first defense.
His adversary is certainly one large assignment. Petchtanong is as decorated and as experienced as they come, owning a record of 357-56-1 and multiple kickboxing and Muay Thai titles. Petchtanong will try to ascend straight to the mountain top in his bid to dethrone Akimoto.
The co-main event will provide fans with a grudge match when Roman Kryklia battles old foe Iraj Azizpour in the ONE Heavyweight Kickboxing World Grand Prix Final.
Kryklia and Azizpour both set up the grand finale with respective victories at ONE 161 in September. Kryklia, the ONE Light Heavyweight Kickboxing World Champion, disposed of Brazilian legend Guto Inocente in the semifinals.
Azizpour bested Bruno Chaves in his respective semifinal bout to set up a historic finale with the familiar Iranian. After all, the duo holds one victory apiece over each other, with both men looking to settle the rivalry once and for all in the final.
More bouts are anticipated to be announced soon.
