Charles Oliveira is open to a possible fight with Khabib Nurmagomedov. The former UFC champion revealed the same during his recent interview with ESPN. Oliveira was asked about the possibility of fighting Khabib to which the Brazilian replied that he will always be ready to fight Khabib.

The former UFC champion retired from MMA a few years back after securing a win over Justin Gaethje. Khabib noted that it is a decision that he made for his family and has been busy as a coach and a promoter ever since.

There have been talks about Khabib returning to fight Oliveira if the Brazilian beats Islam Makhachev.

“Well, the fight is against Islam. Whenever [Khabib Nurmagomedov] he’s willing to get back and get on with it. I’ll always be ready,” Oliveira noted in his recent interview with ESPN.

While he noted that he will be ready, Oliveira added that the chances of Khabib making a return is low considering the fact that he is retired.

“Honestly, I don’t think he’s going to be fighting again. He said he’s retired, he’s done. And I fully respect that decision,” Oliveira said in the interview.

Oliveira has been quite confident about his fight against Islam Makhachev and recently said that he is planning to shock the world at UFC 280. Khabib, on the other hand, had noted that Islam will roll over Oliveira in the fight.

The stakes are clearly high for the fight and it would be interesting to see who walks out of UFC 280 as the UFC Lightweight champion. What are your predictions? Let us know in the comments below.
