ONE Fight Night 3: Lineker vs. Andrade saw the next generation of female MMA fighters coming through the ranks. One of them, undefeated Frenchwoman Noelle Grandjean, took to the Circle for the very first time on that night against fellow newcomer Lea Bivins.

Grandjean needed just four minutes to take derail the debut of Bivins this past October, stopping her by TKO.

“It went as planned, actually. I felt pretty strong even when I knew that she was a good wrestler. I expected her to pressure me straight away. I think I could have actually pressured more on the ground, but I knew that I didn't want to risk it,” Grandjean said.

“I just followed what I had in my mind, but I felt maybe I could have expressed myself more on the ground, but I just played it a bit more safe. And I had fun with the striking part as well. And it was a fun fight. She's very good. She also tried to strike, so it was like a real MMA bout.”

The milestone is not only something Grandjean feels she has achieved for herself. She attributed her victory to her father for molding her into the fighter she is becoming today.

“It's so amazing to be able to share this with him,” Grandjean said.

“He's put so much work into me since I was born. This is the best I got, it's not even worth money, it's not even worth anything, it's just memories forever, and to be able to share this with him. My mom was also there, all the good people. A lot of people came down to see the fight. I can't describe it in words.”

As far as the future goes, Grandjean knows that she has only just arrived in ONE Championship and therefore must work her way up through the ranks. So, she’s going to accept whatever the promotion has planned for her.

“I trust the matchmakers, it's their job. I trust the process. I will take whatever they give me, I trust everything. I honestly don't follow the fights too much. Even my opponent, I don't really study or watch Lea. I'm just flowing, I do my own things. I don't even really know all the girls in my division,” she said.

“I think in life we should be focusing on ourselves to be the best version of ourselves and just perform the best way we can. Of course, you want to know if they are southpaws or these little things that are important. But I think what has to be is maybe already written. I trust the matchmakers. Let's see what they have for me. I'm also curious to see how this journey will be. I have a good feeling, honestly.”
