Nemat Abdrashitov, the newly crowned Featherweight world champion, received a remarkable homecoming as he was honored by dignitaries in his native Kyrgyzstan. The Kyrgyz athlete's stunning victory over Roman Bogatov at BRAVE CF 72 during the Kombat Kingdom series in Bahrain garnered worldwide attention.
Abdrashitov's achievement holds great significance for Kyrgyzstan, as he becomes the second athlete from the nation to capture a BRAVE CF title. Upon his return to Bishkek, the capital, he was warmly welcomed by his compatriots, with fans and family gathering at the airport to celebrate their latest champion.
In a recent event in his hometown of Kyzyl-Kiya, Abdrashitov received further accolades from Mayor Matkalykov Asilbek Zhorobaevich, Vice Mayor Aitmatov Mirlan Musaevich, and Councilor of the City of Duma, Alimbekova Tahmina Zhusupovna. The local officials praised the new champion for his remarkable achievement in the esteemed global MMA promotion.
This recognition not only honours Abdrashitov but also signifies the growing influence of MMA in Kyrgyzstan. It holds the potential to bring BRAVE CF back to the country, as the promotion was the first international brand to host an event there in association with WEF in 2019.
Looking ahead, Abdrashitov is preparing for his first title defense, scheduled against Ukraine's Omar Solomanov later this year. Meanwhile, BRAVE CF will continue its journey and head to Bogota, Colombia, for BRAVE CF 73. The event will feature an intense clash between USA's Jose Torres and South Africa's Nkosi Ndebele, competing for the vacant Bantamweight belt on August 12.
