Nate Diaz and Jake Paul will square off in a boxing bout.

Since Diaz left the UFC in September of last year, there have been rumours of a possible boxing match between the two. On Wednesday, it was confirmed that Paul and Diaz would square off on August 5 at the Dallas American Airlines Center.

The bout pairs the well-known YouTuber-turned-boxer against a competitor who has one of the most passionate and devoted fan bases in all of MMA. Unsurprisingly, a number of well-known figures in the fighting world felt forced to comment on the news.

One such name that reacted to the news was Dillon Danis. Dillon, who is known for his takes on Social Media dismissed Nate Diaz as a retired MMA Fighter with CTE.

“Jake Paul loses to the only “pro” boxer that’s his age & weight class who is actually terrible and immediately returns to boxing retired smaller MMA fighters with cte”, Danis noted.

Interestingly, Danis was not the only professional fighter that had a reaction to the news.

“Tommy Fury finessed JP handy, Nate spars real boxers the last 15 years, has a granite chin, and cardio for days... Why am I seeing alot of people post a handy win for Jake Paul? Am I missing something??,” wrote Paul Redmond.

Sean O Malley, meanwhile noted that he was hyped for the showdown between Diaz and Paul.

“I’ll tune into any Diaz fight” wrote Kelvin Gastelum.

Ben Askren noted that Nate Diaz fans are going to cry hard when Jake Paul gets the win. Interestingly, Ben Askren was the first UFC fighter that fought Jake Paul and the former ONE World Champion suffered a KO loss as well.
