As per Jon Anik, Israel Adesanya is the middleweight GOAT. That is, Adesanya is above Anderson Silva who is considered as one of the biggest names in the UFC Middleweight division.

The Last Stylebender ultimately defeated his longtime foe Alex Pereira at UFC 287. 'Poatan' defeated Adesanya twice in kickboxing and at UFC 281 to capture the Middleweight Title.

Over the weekend, Adesanya attained the retaliation he had long sought against the Brazilian threat. The anime fan brutally knocked down Pereira late in the second round.

Jon Anik recently discussed Israel Adesanya's status as the greatest UFC Middleweight Champion of all time on an episode of First Take with Stephen A. Smith.

Anik was eager to point out the importance of Adesanya's strong schedule as well as the impressiveness of his revenge victory over Pereira. Many people still regard Anderson Silva as the greatest UFC Middleweight Champion of all time, he acknowledged.

With 10 successful defences, "The Spider" continues to hold the middleweight record. He defeated a formidable group of opponents during that time, including Rich Franklin, Dan Henderson, Chael Sonnen, and Vitor Belfort.

"It also, in my humble opinion, cements Israel Adesanya as the greatest of all time. There are people who can still argue Anderson Silva is the greatest Middleweight Champion of all time, and in terms of the title defences, that is okay. But I sit here in 2023, and not just argue for Adesanya's case as one of the best pound-for-pound guys right now, I think he's the greatest Middleweight Champion of all time on his strength of schedule, and based on this win,” Anik noted (h/t MMA News)

A long list of debates was sparked on Twitter as well last day comparing Israel Adesanya to Khabib Nurmagomedov.
