Matrix Fight Night 13 Results: Sanjeet Budhwar retains Featherweight title

Matrix Fight Night 13 went down at the Noida Indoor Stadium on 28 October 2023 and featured the MFN Featherweight title fight as the main event.

Champions successfully defend titles

The entire spotlight was on the much-awaited rematch between Sanjeet Budhwar and Shyamanand and the stakes got higher with the MFN Featherweight title on the line. The fight lived up to the expectations as well with both fighters giving it their all before Sanjeet got the upper hand on the scorecard. As a result, he got a split decision win and retained the title.

Elsewhere, in the co-main event, reigning Welterweight champion Darkhanbek Ergeshev made quick work of Jason Solomon. The champion submitted Jason in the first round itself to make his first successful title defence in the promotion.

Abdul Azim Badakhshi for the title?

Elsewhere, Afghanistan’s Abdul Azim Badakhshi stopped Hae Jin Park in the first round to put his name into the Featherweight title mix. Badakhshi and Sanjeet had a face off moment after the main event as well which indicates the direction in which the promotion is heading to.

Mandeep Prajapati and Yuki Angdembe secured impressive stoppage wins in their respective fights. Sahil Rana and Dorde Stojanovic went the complete distance with Sahil taking home a unanimous decision win.

Instant Classic between Clinton and Govind

The fight between Clinton D Cruz and Govind Singh turned out to be an instant classic. Both fighters showed their technical prowess throughout the three-round battle which at the end of the day, was ruled in favor of Clinton.

Dushan Burale made an impactful promotional debut by finishing Sameer Dhiman when Sonam Zomba continued her good run by stopping Rashmi Jain. Himanshu Kaushik, Arshiyan Memon and Satyam Kumar also secured wins in their respective bouts. You can see the results below.
