Mateusz Gamrot faces Quillan Salkilld in UFC Fight Night main event on Aug. 8

The UFC will return to the UFC Apex in Las Vegas on Aug. 8 with a lightweight showdown between No. 8-ranked Mateusz Gamrot and No. 12-ranked Quillan Salkilld headlining UFC Fight Night.

The event will also feature a women's strawweight matchup between No. 8-ranked Amanda Lemos and No. 12-ranked Alexia Thainara in the co-main event.

Gamrot enters the bout looking to strengthen his position in the lightweight title picture. The Polish veteran owns a 26-4 record with one no contest and has established himself as one of the division's top grapplers. He has previously earned notable victories over Diego Ferreira and Scott Holtzman and will aim to halt the momentum of one of the UFC's fastest-rising contenders.

Salkilld brings a 12-1 professional record into his first UFC main event and is riding a 12-fight winning streak. A graduate of Dana White's Contender Series, the Australian has quickly climbed the rankings with victories over Beneil Dariush, Jamie Mullarkey and Nasrat Haqparast. A win over Gamrot would mark the biggest victory of his career and move him closer to title contention.

In the co-main event, former strawweight title challenger Amanda Lemos returns to action against fellow Brazilian Alexia Thainara. Lemos, who owns a 15-6-1 record, is tied for the second-most finishes and knockouts in UFC women's strawweight history and will look to defend her place in the top 10.

Thainara enters the contest on a 12-fight winning streak and has compiled a 14-1 record. Since joining the UFC, she has earned victories over Molly McCann, Loma Lookboonmee and Bruna Brasil and now has the opportunity to break into the division's top tier.

The card also features several notable matchups across multiple weight classes, including a welterweight clash between Dana White's Contender Series alumni Ty Miller and Billy Ray Goff, lightweight veterans Diego Ferreira and Billy Quarantillo, featherweights Darren Elkins and Yadier del Valle, and heavyweight contests featuring Steven Asplund vs. Guilherme Pat and Louie Sutherland vs. José Montanha da Silva.
