Beneil Dariush feels that Charles Oliveira is not getting the respect that he deserves from Khabib Nurmagomedov. Speaking to Helen Yee, recently, Dariush noted that most of the fighters out there, including Khabib could be playing games to get into the head of the opponents.

"I think these guys have been in this for too long because everybody's playing games. Sometimes, you just got to chill out. The fight's happening, relax, take your time, and let it play out the way it's supposed to. Let's stop with these games,” he said (h/t Sportskeeda).

Khabib had noted that Charles Oliveira might not show up for the fight with Islam Makhachev at UFC 280 in Abu Dhabi. Dariush was critical of this comment from the Former UFC Lightweight champion and added that Oliveira should not be insulted.

“I just think Charles Oliveira will not show up in Abu Dhabi and the UFC will replace Charles with Beneil Dariush. Regardless of who the opponent will be, @MAKHACHEVMMA is on his way to becoming the best in the world #ufc280,” Khabib noted on his Twitter.

Dariush was speaking about the comment in the interview and had the following to say.

"Charles goes out there and dies every time he fights. He's like 'kill or be killed.' Why insult the champion? I don't know what that was about, but I think Charles will be there,” Dariush noted in the interview.

Dariush, interestingly, will be serving as the backup for the championship bout between Oliveira and Makhachev. He will be fighting Mateusz Gamrot on the fight card.
