As per the recent announcement by Dana White, Kayla Harrison is set to make her highly anticipated promotional debut against Holly Holm at UFC 300 on April 13. The acquisition of Harrison, who previously showcased her dominance in the Professional Fighter's League (PFL), has sparked discussions about her potential as the UFC's next standout star.
Harrison entered the MMA and PFL scene in 2018, swiftly becoming one of the biggest stars in the organization. Throughout her PFL tenure, she boasted an impressive record, winning 16 out of 17 fights, including 12 finishes. Notably, she secured victory in the women's lightweight tournament on two occasions.
With her remarkable success in the PFL, questions arose about Harrison's ability to compete against top-tier competition in the UFC. Addressing these queries, former UFC fighter Kenny Florian expressed unwavering confidence in Harrison's capabilities. Speaking on the Believe You Me podcast with Michael Bisping, Florian emphasized that Harrison possesses all the attributes to become a "huge asset" for the promotion. He stated:
"I think that Kayla has been amazing to watch. I think she's going to be a huge star, a huge asset to the UFC. She's the full package. I think she's great on the mic, she's a great fighter. She has the pedigree, she is a two-time gold medallist in Judo, no American has ever done that male or female. She has the athleticism, the ability, the mindset."
