ONE Fight Night 4: Abbasov vs. Lee takes place next Saturday, 19 November, at the promotion’s stomping grounds of the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
At the event, ONE Strawweight Muay Thai World Champ Joseph Lasiri will look to continue his impressive run by moving up to flyweight to challenge Rodtang Jitmuangnon for his strap.
Lasiri’s last cruise through flyweight, however, wasn’t so impressive. In his promotional debut at ONE: GLOBAL SUPERHEROES in 2018 against Sam-A Gaiyanghadao, he lost by second-round stoppage.
Following that, he lost to Singtongnoi Por Telakun and future ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion Jonathan Haggerty. “The Hurricane” just could not find his footing in the promotion’s flyweight division.

The Italian-Moroccan knew he was down but not out. Lasiri finally began to build some momentum when he dropped weight, beating Australia’s grizzled young veteran Rocky Ogden in a catchweight contest and then dismissing Asahi Shinigawa by first-round demolition.
At ONE 157, Lasiri finally got his chance. Lasiri stood toe-to-toe with then-ONE Strawweight Muay Thai World Champion Prajanchai PK.Saenchai. In the battle, he used his footwork, combinations, and confidence to make the Thai quit on the stool in between rounds.
It was a striking masterclass that saw Lasiri topple the strawweight king with 393 fights and become a household name in Muay Thai.

Now, at ONE Fight Night 4, he’ll return to his former flyweight home in an attempt to put Rodtang on his back and snatch his ONE Flyweight World Title, something that no man has been able to do so far.
