This weekend, former champion Jon Jones will make his way back to the Octagon to face Ciryl Gane for the vacant UFC Heavyweight Title. Following a protracted contract disagreement, Francis Ngannou was stripped of the title and fired from the UFC.

Although this will be Jones' debut bout at heavyweight, the celebrity is renowned for having a nearly unblemished record. His lone defeat resulted from a Disqualification after he used illegal elbows.

Currently, Jon Jones was asked whether there was any competitor he would like to meet during an interview with Sports News Fights prior to his title battle. After considerable thought, Jones identified Brock Lesnar as the opponent he would most like to confront.

Despite Lesnar's less-than-technical fighting style, he said that the size disparity between the two fighters and his enormous fan base would make for an exciting contest. The former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion acknowledged that it would be a significant financial fight for him.

"I think fighting Brock Lesnar would be really cool. Brock isn't the most technical guy, but he has a massive fanbase. He's a lot bigger than me and it would have been the really cool kind of David and Goliath situation. It would have been really cool for cross-sport promoting. I think we would have done great things for our families and our teams, financially that would have been massive,” Jones said in the interview (h/t Sportskeeda).
