Jitendra Khare Appointed as AIGA Representative in India

Jitendra Khare, a renowned combat sports promoter and coach, has been named the official representative of the Amateur International Grappling Association (AIGA) in India. The appointment, effective from December 5, 2024, to December 31, 2025, aims to promote and develop AIGA-style grappling across the country.

Khare’s responsibilities will include advancing AIGA’s mission throughout India and selecting athletes to represent the nation at the AIGA Asian Championship 2025. The championship will take place on February 23, 2025, at the Rangsit University Recreation Building in Bangkok, Thailand.

Established on February 15, 2018, AIGA has emerged as a global leader in grappling, with representatives in 10 countries. The organization hosts youth, amateur, and professional tournaments, including the Champions League, which has featured prize funds exceeding $1 million.

The Asian Championship is open to athletes of all nationalities aged 4 and above, with categories for kids, teens, adults, and masters. AIGA’s efforts aim to elevate grappling to new heights through high-quality media content and international events.

Khare’s appointment is expected to strengthen India’s footprint in the global grappling community and inspire the next generation of athletes.
