Indian MMA fighter Govind Singh made a statement at ONE Pride MMA 69 when he secured a third-round KO win over Former Road to UFC fighter Rama Supandhi.

The Indian had a slow start in the opening rounds but bounced back strongly in the third round where he stopped his Indonesian counterpart with a spinning elbow knockout.

Speaking to LockerRoom India after his fight, Govind noted that his corner guided him through the finishing move.

Govind, fighting out of KOI Combat Academy in Bangalore, came into the fight on the back of his ONE Warrior's Series outing where he had suffered a TKO loss. The Indian was looking to bounce back and put on a good show at the event.

Prior to his loss at ONE Warrior's Series, Govind had been on a four-fight winning streak, having won at Kumite 1 League, Super Fight League, and Bodyforce MMA. He had been a part of the Indian MMA circuit for a long time, having competed since 2013. He also held a win over Hamad Faisal at KHK Fight Night in Bahrain.

Meanwhile, Rama Supandhi came into the fight on the back of his loss at Road to UFC 1. Rama had suffered a loss to Seung Guk Choi at Road to UFC 1, and before that, he had been on a two-fight winning streak in ONE Pride MMA. Rama had been a mainstay in ONE Pride MMA, having spent most of his career in the promotion.

Meanwhile, Somesh Kamra, who was instrumental in putting Govind on the ONE Pride MMA card notes that we might get to see Govind a couple of more times in ONE Pride MMA.

“Govind’s performance at One Pride 69 was spectacular. He was two rounds down and came back in the 3rd to knock his opponent out and secure the win. That shows the mentality with which this hungry mountain boy came into the fight. I'm happy about my selection of Govind but I'm happier with the way things panned out. The training, the sparring, the tapering up and tapering down. We tried to make it as perfect as possible with his coaches around him and obviously, Anshul Jubli in his corner was an add-on. I will be discussing the future of Indian fighters at One Pride and obviously getting Govind a couple of good fights more at One Pride,” Somesh noted.

With the win, Govind improved his record to 7-2 and noted that he is open to opportunities coming his way and added that he is constantly on the lookout for improving his skills.
