Drake wins $2.7 Million thanks to Israel Adesanya at UFC 287

Drake has cashed in big time on the win of Israel Adesanya at UFC 287.

Israel Adesanya attained the punches he had been seeking for years, and when they connected, he reclaimed his title as middleweight champion of the UFC.

At 4:21 in Round 2 of the main event of UFC 287 at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Adesanya knocked out Alex Pereira.

The contest on Saturday was the rivalry's second MMA match and fourth overall in combat sports. Adesanya also achieved his first victory. With two victories in kickboxing (one by knockout and one by decision) and a title-winning TKO win over Adesanya at UFC 281 in November, Pereira entered the fight with a perfect lifetime record of 3-0.

Leg kick competition made up the first round. Although Pereira relied on his hallmark power, Adesanya used his technical striking. A more aggressive second round from both combatants, especially Pereira, who delivered a strong knee and punch combination, following a close first five minutes of point-fighting.

Further strikes by Pereira against Adesanya's cage were greeted by two right hands that stole his consciousness. Before referee Dan Miragliotta raced in to save the stiffening Pereira, Adesanya delivered one powerful hammerfist follow-up.

Drake had placed bets on Israel Adesanya and Jorge Masvidal winning at UFC 287. Although his wager on Masvidal did not turn fruitful, he won big on Adesanya.

Drake placed a bet on Adesanya winning which earned him $885,000. He had also placed a bet on Adesanya winning via KO which earned him $1840000.
