Former UFC champion Daniel Cormier is all set to appear as a special guest referee for a WWE match. The UFC Hall of Famer will be appearing as the special guest referee for the match between former UFC fighter Matt Riddle and former WWE champion Seth Rollins at WWE Extreme Rules.
The event will happen in Philadelphia, known for being the home for ECW, on October 8, 2022.
“I will be fair. I’ll be honest. I’ll be impartial. And I will not take anyone’s s***. I will be there for a reason. The law has been called in, and I will enforce it with every part of myself to the fullest extent,” Cormier noted on his Instagram page while sharing the news.

The match between Riddle and Seth Rollins will be a special ‘Fight Put’ match. The ring ropes will be removed for the showdown and it will be replaced with steel cage which will have a catwalk along the top. The matchup between Rollins and Riddle has been in the making for a long time now.
Riddle has been making waves in the professional wrestling world since his transition from MMA and had a 7-3 professional MMA record to his name before moving away from the sport. Rollins, on the other hand, has been one of the mainstays in WWE for a long time now after making a debut on the main roster as part of the Shield alongside Jon Moxley and Roman Reigns.

Cormier has been vocal about his love for professional wrestling for a long time now. After his retirement from MMA, Cormier was also in talks with WWE for a working arrangement. The move, however, did not materialize.
