UFC Baku Full Results: Khalil Rountree outclasses Jamahal Hill

Khalil Rountree Jr. delivered the most significant win of his career Saturday night at UFC Fight Night: Hill vs. Rountree Jr., earning a dominant unanimous decision over former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jamahal Hill in front of a roaring crowd of 14,424 at the Baku Convention Center.

Ranked No. 7 heading into the bout, Rountree used a sharp game plan to dismantle No. 4-ranked Hill, battering his legs with repeated calf kicks and scoring multiple knockdowns in the later rounds. The judges scored the bout 49-46, 50-45, and 50-45 in favor of Rountree, who now moves closer to a shot at the title.

“Thank you to Baku, I’m going to remember this place for the rest of my life. Inshallah, I come back,” said Rountree. “I didn’t come in here underestimating Jamahal. My goal was to be smart, make different decisions, and fight like a professional championship-level fighter. I want to be a champion.”

In the co-main event, Azerbaijan's own Rafael Fiziev brought the crowd to their feet with a dominant performance against rising prospect Ignacio Bahamondes, winning all three rounds on the judges’ scorecards. Using precise striking, slick footwork, and well-timed throws, Fiziev controlled the pace from start to finish.

“I feel so happy,” Fiziev said. “It’s been a long time since I felt this way. I’m so happy to do it in front of my people and on my land.”

Earlier in the night, South Korea’s JunYong Park survived a dangerous illegal knee from Ismael Naurdiev, rallying to win a unanimous decision after dominating with his grappling. Fellow Korean SeokHyun Ko impressed in his UFC debut by upsetting undefeated Welsh prospect Oban Elliott, using judo to control the fight and secure a clean sweep on the scorecards.
