Conor McGregor Ventures into Music Industry with New Record Label

Conor McGregor, the renowned Irish mixed martial artist, is broadening his entrepreneurial ventures with the launch of his own record label, Greenback Records. This latest endeavour marks the first major record label to be established in Dublin, as McGregor collaborates with Richard Buck and Julian O’Brien on the project.

The Sunday World first reported the news of McGregor's new venture. Greenback Records aims to be a multi-genre producer, promising artists a fair share of profits with payout expectations that are described as "currently unheard of in the industry."

"I am excited to create Ireland’s first major record label in an industry that I have had great interest in for some time," McGregor stated. "To be able to come in and offer music artists a fair deal and properly reward them for their talent. This industry, like others, has needed an overhaul for a long time. I am excited for myself, McGregor Sports & Entertainment, to partner with Richard and Julian as founders to bring Greenback Records to life!"

While specific artists have not yet been announced, Greenback Records has reportedly signed numerous musicians.

This new venture adds to McGregor's extensive portfolio of business undertakings. Notably, McGregor founded Proper No. 12, a whiskey brand that was sold to Proximo Spirits in a deal valued at $600 million. McGregor also launched Forged Irish Stout, a beer brand that is expanding into new markets worldwide, and became a part owner of Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) in April.

McGregor's fighting career has been on hold since 2021 due to a series of injuries, including a broken toe that forced him out of a scheduled bout against Michael Chandler in June. However, he has hinted at a potential return to the UFC by the end of 2024, although no official announcements have been made.

McGregor's venture into the music industry with Greenback Records reflects his continued drive to diversify his business interests beyond the octagon.
