BRAVE CF 87 delivered an action-packed night in the Netherlands, headlined by a historic Lightweight title defense. Abdisalam Uulu Kubanychbek successfully defended his title against Raul Tutarauli, breaking the organization's Lightweight title curse.
The main event was a five-round thriller. Raul challenged the champion with striking early on, forcing Abdisalam to go for takedowns. After a stalemate on the ground in the second round, both fighters found their moments on the feet in the third and fourth rounds. Despite Raul wobbling the champion in the third, Abdisalam’s striking, including spinning backfists, gave him the upper hand. In the final round, Abdisalam’s striking secured him a decision victory, making history as the first BRAVE CF Lightweight champion to defend the title.
Co-Main Event: Blyden's Dominance Continues
In the co-main event, Noach Blyden continued his streak of first-round finishes by defeating Adrian Gralak. Blyden overwhelmed Gralak with striking, landing a series of knees that dropped his opponent before the referee stepped in. The victory marked Blyden’s fifth consecutive first-round finish, solidifying his position as a top contender in the Middleweight division.
Mubarez Hands Haryouli First Loss
Zabiullah Mubarez dominated his fight against Nabil Haryouli, using grappling to control the bout. Despite Nabil's attempts from the bottom, Mubarez opened a cut on his opponent’s face and maintained control throughout all three rounds, securing a unanimous decision win and giving Haryouli his first MMA loss.
Brunswijk’s Comeback Submission
Clyde Brunswijk delivered a thrilling performance by submitting Madalin Pirvulescu in the third round. After a tough first round, Brunswijk rebounded in the second with effective striking. In the third, despite being taken down, Brunswijk locked in a guillotine during a scramble, forcing Pirvulescu to tap.
Magomedov Stops Benaion
In the opening fight, Rasul Magomedov continued his undefeated streak by stopping Brazilian veteran Pablo Benaion in the first round. Magomedov dominated from the start, landing elbows that opened a severe cut, leading to a referee stoppage.
Next Stop: Slovenia for BRAVE CF 88
BRAVE CF 87 marked the organization’s second event in the Netherlands, following BRAVE CF 83. Held in partnership with Enfusion’s ECE MMA, the event was a milestone for Dutch MMA. BRAVE CF now heads to Slovenia for BRAVE CF 88 on September 28, featuring two vacant world titles in the Light Heavyweight and Heavyweight divisions.
