BRAVE Combat Federation asserted its dominance in the Asian MMA scene with a decisive 5-1 victory over YFU fighters at BRAVE CF 84 in Zhengzhou, China, on Friday. The event not only showcased top-level competition but also marked a milestone for the promotion, as China became the 33rd country to host a BRAVE CF event. With this, BRAVE CF equaled the record for the most Asian countries visited by an MMA promotion, reaching 13 nations.

In the main event, Georgia’s Bidzina Gavashelishvili claimed his second consecutive win in BRAVE CF, defeating Kazakhstan’s Erasyl Shukataev in a three-round battle. Despite being knocked down twice in the opening round, Gavashelishvili turned the tide with strategic boxing in the second round and superior grappling in the third, securing a unanimous decision victory. Post-fight, Gavashelishvili declared himself a top contender in the Flyweight division and set his sights on the title.

The co-main event, headlining the BRAVE CF vs. YFU portion, saw Brice Picaud earn a TKO victory over Qinghe Zhang after Zhang suffered a knee injury at the end of the second round. The technical contest was cut short, but Picaud’s win highlighted the dominance of BRAVE CF fighters throughout the night.

In a standout performance, Borislav Nikolic made a strong case for a Bantamweight title shot by delivering a first-round TKO against Eqiyuebu. Nikolic’s experience shone through as he took control early, eventually finishing the fight with elbows from the top position.

Other notable performances included Izzeddine Al-Derbani’s submission victory over Maimaitituoheti via triangle choke in the first round and Olzhas Eskaraev’s unanimous decision win over Zehao Zhang, which brings Eskaraev closer to a potential rematch with Lightweight champion Abdisalam Kubanychbek.

The lone victory for YFU came from Yang Weiqiang, who handed Mohamed Alsameea his first professional loss, securing a decision win after a grueling three-round contest.

BRAVE CF 84 was the promotion’s fourth event of the year, following stops in Slovenia, Mauritius, and the Netherlands. Up next, BRAVE CF heads to Lahore, Pakistan, for BRAVE CF 85, scheduled as part of BRAVE International Combat Week on August 18.
