Bombay Beatdown 2023: Jishnu K S Triumphs in Grand K-1 Tournament

In an electrifying night of intense martial arts action, Bombay Beatdown 2023 took centre stage at 360 Calisthenics, Opp. Inorbit Mall, Malad (W), Mumbai. The event featured the highly anticipated Grand K-1 Tournament, showcasing the best of India's kickboxing talent in a series of thrilling bouts.

Inaugural Bouts:

The night kicked off with the inaugural bouts, where Arman Shaikh faced off against Sudeep Rathod in Bout 1. The fight ended prematurely with Sudeep Rathod declared the winner via Doctor Stoppage.

K-1 Tournament Knockout Stage:

The knockout stage saw some explosive action with fighters battling to secure their place in the next round. Dhruv Shiridhkar made a statement by defeating Sanu Paswan via a first-round knockout, while Arun Bisht displayed his power by winning against Nikhil Bachhav with a similar first-round knockout.

Shakib Sayyed secured a victory via a unanimous decision in Bout 3 against Sarmad Ansari, while Sujal Bhanushali emerged triumphant with a first-round TKO against Irfan Beg. The action continued with Jishnu K S securing another first-round TKO victory against Suman Saurabh, and Mangesh Sapate earning a unanimous decision victory against Mohd Afzal.

Quarterfinal Bouts:

As the competition intensified, the quarterfinals showcased Arun Bisht's dominance with a first-round TKO victory against Sujal Bhanushali. In Bout 2, Jishnu K S advanced to the semifinals as Shakib Sayyed had to pull out due to injury. Mangesh Sapate secured his place in the next round with a unanimous decision win against Dhruv Shiridkar.

Semi-Finals:

The semi-finals witnessed a captivating showdown between Arun Bisht and Mangesh Sapate. After a hard-fought battle, Mangesh Sapate emerged victorious via a unanimous decision, securing his spot in the finals.

Grand Finale:

The much-anticipated finals featured Mangesh Sapate and Jishnu K S going head to head for the Bombay Beatdown K-1 Tournament championship. After an intense fight, Jishnu K S emerged as the victor, winning via a unanimous decision and took home the prize money of Rs. 30,000.
