In the ever-evolving landscape of the UFC middleweight division, Bo Nickal has his sights set on an inevitable collision with the undefeated powerhouse, Khamzat Chimaev. The three-time NCAA champion from Penn State, renowned for his wrestling prowess, believes that a clash with Chimaev is on the horizon, given their similar backgrounds in wrestling and grappling.

Expressing his interest in a potential matchup, Nickal commented on Chimaev's recent victory over former UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman at UFC 294. Although acknowledging Chimaev's impressive grappling and aggressiveness, Nickal observed some vulnerabilities, particularly as the fight progressed into later rounds.

While Chimaev has earned a reputation for his fast starts, with eight first-round finishes in his 13-0 career record, Nickal remains analytical of his performance. Noting both positive and negative aspects, Nickal sees every fight involving potential future opponents as a valuable learning experience, aiming to incorporate insights into his training.

Despite Chimaev's victory over Usman, Nickal remains confident in his ability to conquer the so-called middleweight boogeyman. Reflecting on the fight, he acknowledged Chimaev's toughness but asserted, "I believe in myself, and I think my skills match up very well against him. I feel like that’s a fight that I win."

Nickal, with only five fights on his MMA résumé and a scheduled third UFC appearance against Cody Brundage at UFC 300 in April, is undeterred by his relative inexperience. Emphasizing his wrestling ability as a significant X factor, Nickal believes opponents must prepare differently for him, contributing to his unique edge in the division.
